I entered the field of psychology with a need to understand my “wounded” self, and I also wanted to help others. In my mid-twenties, I sought therapy for anxiety, depression, and panic. I was also educating myself and in training to deepen my skills as a psychotherapist. I was employed in various hospitals and clinics.
I thought that perhaps the rigor of a Master’s degree would free me from the anxiety, burnout, anguish, and body pain that were constant companions. My hope at getting better diminished when it didn't.
Academic pursuits weren't the answer to my problems, neither was understanding. Talking and thinking were not an effective healing approach, at least, not for me. The truth is, I was at a loss. Many told me "You will just have to learn to live with it."
"With what? It?" The anxiety, panic, and depression?"
What I had stumbled upon in 1993 is now backed by science.
Current research tells us that unresolved trauma resides in the body and the subconscious mind, not the thinking brain. BINGO!
Enter the Energy Psychology approaches I employ which reduce stress, expand wellbeing, and create more ease in the body faster than traditional methods.
